Lhasa is the capital of Tibet. It is an ancient city with a rich cultural heritage. The Potala Palace, Jokhang temple and Norbulingka palaces are places of cultural and religious significance of Tibetan Buddhists.
Mount Kailash is located in the western part of Tibet. The pilgrims peak is of religious significance to Buddhists, Hindus, Jains and Bompons. Hindus and Buddhists believe Mount Kailash to be the center of the universe. Mount Kailash is a popular pilgrimage destination and walking around this mountain is a supreme goal for the faithful.
The holy Mansarovar lake is located 20 kms from Mount Kailash. The great lake lies in the south west of Tibet beyond the great Himalayas bordering Nepal and China. Mansarovar is a sacred place to both Hindus and Buddhists who believe that the Indus, Ganga, Sutlej and Brahmaputra originated from this lake.
