Mardi Himal is located fifteen miles North of Pokhara and lies South of the Annapurna region. At a height of 5587m, the peak is amongst the smallest of the ‘trekking peaks’. Mardi Himal lies adjacent to the famous Machapuchhre peak. The Machapuchhere peak or Fish Tail peak (in English) is a sacred mountain which is forbidden to climbers.

The trail to Mardi Himal is perhaps the least visited trekking route in Nepal. This trek is more suitable for trekkers who want to walk along routes that are not overcrowded with trekkers. The ascent of the peak requires no previous technical climbing expertise. However, proper acclimatization is essential to make it to the summit. We understand this and have devised our programme allowing enough time for acclimatization.

Nepal has four climatic seasons

* Spring : March-May

* Summer: June-August

* Autumn: September-November

* Winter: December-February.

There is no seasonal constraint on travelling in and through Nepal. Even in December and January, when the winter is at its severest, there are compensating bright sun and brilliant views. The monsoon season does affect the summer months, so be wary that trekking can be hazardous, although there are some regions that are actually best visited at this time – please see our list of treks for more information.
