Eight of the 8000 plus peaks in the world are located in Nepal. The Everest Mountain Flight makes sure that we get as close as possible to these ice giants. Our flight takes off from the Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu before heading North to the Himalayas.
The first peak that we come across is the Shisha Pangma, which at 8013m is the fourteenth highest peak in the world. Next we come across the Dorje Lakpa (6966m) and Choba Bhamare. Choba Bhamare at the height of 5993m has not yet been conquered by any mortal. After this stubborn peak we come across the Gauri Shankar (7134m), a peak named after the Hindu god Shiva and his consort Gauri. The mountain is of religious significance to Hindus as they believe that Shiva and Gauri protect this mountain.
The flight then takes us across a series of peaks including the plateau like Melungtse (7023m) and the virgin Chugimago (6297m). Then we come across the Cho Oyu, which at 8201m is the eighth highest peak in the world. We reach Everest only after we pass through Gyachungkang (7952m), Pumori (7161m) and Nuptse (7861m). Mount Everest is the worlds highest peak and dominates the Himalayas with a towering height of 8848m.
