New Trekking Routes
In Nepal, many areas which could otherwise have been prime trekking destinations remain forbidden to outsiders. Due to their proximity to the Tibetan border, certain trekking areas have been restricted to non-nationals in the past. Recently, the Government of Nepal has started to lift these restrictions in some trekking areas.
The previously restricted areas and new trekking routes are now giving tough competition to the two most popular trekking regions; the Everest and the Annapurna trekking region.
