Langtang Region Trek
The Langtang Region lies 70 km North of Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. Due to it’s nearness to Kathmandu the region is more accessible as compared to the Everest and Annapurna regions. But, although Langtang is more accessible, it’s trekking routes are not as crowded as the other two regions. The main highlight of the Langtang Region is the spectacular Ganesh Himal, a sub-range of Himalayas named after the Hindu god ‘Ganesha’.
The region is also home to the Gosainkunda lakes that are considered to be sacred by the followers of Hinduism. The region is rich in terms of wildlife and vegetation and is abundant in oak, maple, pine and rhododendron. The best time to visit Langtang is during Spring and Autumn.
