Gosainkunda is not just a trekking destination. It is a pilgrimage. The area is believed to be the abode of the Hindu god ‘Shiva’. Our 9 day trek around the Gosaikunda region starts the day after our arrival in Dhunche, an 11 hour bus ride from Kathmandu. From Dhunche we make our way to Gosaikunda via Sing Gompa.

According to Hindu mythology, the holy lakes of Gosaikuda was created by Lord Shiva’s Trishul (three pointed weapon) so that he could drink it’s cold water and quench his thirst. After a day in Gosaikunda we trek to Gopte, Kutumsang, Chipling, Chisopani before finally arriving at Sundarijal, the ending point of our trek.

Day 1 Arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport. Transfer to Hotel.
After your arrival in Kathmandu our representatives at the airport will transfer you to your hotel and help you in checking in.
Day 2 Kathmandu to Dhunche (1,960m).
It takes about 11 hours on a bus for us to reach Dhunche. Since tourist buses do not travel to this region we make our journey in a local bus. Overnight stay in Dhunche.
Day 3 Trek to Sing Gompa. O/N in Sing Gompa (3,330m).
From Dhunche we cross rivers, pass through forests and walk mostly uphill before we stop for an over night stay in Sing Gompa.
Day 4 Trek to Gosainkunda. O/N in Gosainkunda (4,380m).
The trail leading to Gosaikunda is mostly steep and rugged. According to Hindu mythology, the holy lakes of Gosaikuda was created by Lord Shiva’s Trishul (three pointed weapon) so that he could drink it’s cold water and quench his thirst.
Day 5 Trek to Laurebinayak pass (4610m). O/N in Gopte or Tharepati (3,690m).
As we head  towards the Laurebina pass (4610m) the trail climbs through rugged paths passing through small lakes in between.
Day 6 Trek to Kutumsang. O/N in Kutumsang (2,470m).
From Tharepati the trail to passes through forests of fir and rhododendron as we arrive in Magen Goth (3420m), Panghu and finally Khutumsang.
Day 7 Trek to Chipling. O/N in Chipling (2,170m).
The trail now descends to the beautiful hamlet of Gul Bhanjyang and then climbs up to Thodang Betini (2260m) and Chipling (2170m).
Day 8 Trek to Chisopani. O/N in Chisopani (2,165m).
Today our trail makes a steep descent as we stop in Pati Bhanjyang (1860m), before finally arriving in Chisopani.
Day 9 Trek back to Sundarijal (1,300m) and drive back to Kathmandu.
Our 9 day trek ends in Sundarijal a beautiful place high above the Kathmandu valley. A short ride in a cab takes us from Sundarijal to Kathmandu. You can either fly to your destination today or you can stay in a hotel in Kathmandu.

Return transfers from International and Domestic airport to your hotel, one night stay at the Hotel, all government taxes and national park entry fee, TIMS Card (Trekking Management System), required number of experienced English speaking guides and support staff (we pay for their daily wages, insurances, trekking equipments, food and accommodation), airport taxes, accommodation during the trek, emergency first aid kit carried by the support staff.

All meals in Kathmandu, Tips to guides and support staff, Additional costs in case of emergency (You must have adequate travel insurance to cover any kind of emergencies), Internal flight tickets, Additional medication for altitude sickness (Acetozolomide etc), Personal expenses and any other unforeseen expenses.

Travel Insurances: -

Travel Insurances are compulsory for clients trekking or climbing with us. The insurance should cover you in case of emergencies like accidents, altitude sickness and ambulance and helicopter rescue charges if required. Please carry a copy of your insurance papers while travelling in Nepal and do send us a copy as well. This will help us in making all the necessary arrangements in case of any sort of emergencies.
