Annapurna, a section of the Himalayas is sometimes referred to as the Goddess of Harvests. The mother mountain who feeds the universe stays protected within the Annapurna Conservation Area, the first and the largest conservation area in Nepal. The Annapurna Conservation Area is a paradise for trekkers because of the world class treks it offers. It is the home of treks where trekkers get to choose between different trekking routes via equally different passes. Annapurna three passes trek is one of the many trekking options available in the Annapurna trekking region. This trek is suitable for trekking enthusiasts who would like to visit areas that are less frequented and crowded unlike other trekking regions in Nepal.
The trek starts from Kalikasthan and ends at Jomsom (2,750m) the headquarters of Manang district. The trek itself is a 25 day affair with fully organized camps and tents. The level of challenge increases with every high pass; Namun Bhanjyang(5,5600m), Kang La pass(5,306m) and Tilicho Mesokanta La pass(5,330m).
The trek begins from Kalikasthan until we reach the base camp is 6 days, where a day of acclimatization in Dharmasala prepares us for the rest of our journey. In Dharmasala we have a day to enjoy superb views of Annapurna IV (7,525m), Annapurna II (7,937m), Machhapurchhre (6,997m), Annapurna III (7,555m) and Lamjung Himal (6,988m). In case of snowfall during the trek, it’s quite difficult to find out the trekking path from the base camp to the High passes in Namun Banjyang (5,560m). We will be crossing a height of 5,560m until we reach the next base camp.
The base camp offers panoramic views of Lamjung Himal (6,988m), Annapurna IV (7,525m), Annapurna II (7,937m), Machhapurchhre (6,997m), Annapurna III (7,555m) and other equally mesmerizing mountains. The trekking path after crossing Namun descends and slopes down to the base camp. After a nights stay here we will continue walking to Koto, which is the major trail of the popular Annapurna Circuit Trek. We will take a days rest in Koto after our successful trek and celebrate this success with chilled beers and Nepalese wines. It you prefer to visit Chame instead, our staff will take you to this headquarters of Lamjung district.
The next destination is Naar Phu which was a restricted area for for trekkers until 2003. This valley that lies in the remotest areas of Annapurna region, is home to villages where Yak herding and agriculture remain the mainstays of the economy rather than tourism. The trek takes you through narrow gorges to medieval villages, past chorines, herds of blue sheep, spectacular cliff side trails and over the region’s highest trekking passes.
After visiting the beautiful medieval village of Phu and witnessing the lifestyles of Bhote communities, we walk to the Khangsar village to cross over the Kang La (5,306m). The trekking path ascending Kang La can be a bit difficult but when you are here you will forget all the difficulties on seeing the magnificent Pisang Peak (6,091m), Chulu (Far east 6,038m), Chulu east (6,429m), Chulu Centre (6,584m), Tilich Peak (7, 134m), Kangaru Himal (6,981m), Himlung (7,126m). We are sure that you will love being here and then we will descend to Kharka for a night. The trek then goes through the Manang village across another high Pass Tilicho Mesokanta La (5,330m). Tilicho Lake at 4,990m is one of the highest frozen lakes in the world and it is beside the lake where we will camp for the night. This wonderful adventures trek ends after high pass crossing Mesokanta La at Jomsom. The Annapurna Three Passes Trek is one of the best treks for majestic mountain views in the high land of Annapurna where only a few trekking agencies organize this trek. Peace Nepal Treks ℗ Ltd. is one of the best among these trekking agencies and prides itself for being able to offer this trek.
